Careers and Engagement Opportunities

Did you know that the NHS is one of the biggest employers in the world and that there are hundreds of different and exciting jobs that you can do in health and social care? The Vocational Learning Team at East Cheshire NHS Trust is here to help local young people, partner organisations and those considering a career in health and social care.

East Cheshire NHS Trust works with partner organisations and other trusts across Cheshire to provide a unique opportunity for local schools, colleges, education and training providers, and employment support organisations to find out more about the learning, experience and employment opportunities offered within the NHS.

How can we help:

Young people and parents/guardians - we know it can be difficult to find experience opportunities. We are here to help and signpost you to:

  • work experience placements
  • volunteering
  • traineeship
  • pre-employment training and supported internships
  • apprenticeships
  • applying for NHS jobs
  • careers and experience events
  • external resources and organisations

Careers advisors and teachers - if you work with young people we can help to link you to NHS organisations that can support:

  • careers fairs/ mock interviews/career readiness programmes
  • events at local trusts
  • linking you to NHS professionals who can visit your school/college to provide career talks
  • resources for you to share with those you work with

NHS staff - we are keen to develop links with staff who can help support NHS career engagement with young people by:

  • becoming an ambassador (Health, STEM, I Care) and share your expertise with local schools and colleges
  • inspiring young people by offering work experience placements in your ward or department
