Speech and Language Therapy Department

The Speech and Language Therapy Department provides assessment and intervention for individuals experiencing communication and related difficulties. These may include:

• Difficulty speaking clearly.
• Difficulty understanding and formulating language.
• Difficulties using language locally.
• Stammering
• Voice poblems
• Difficulty swallowing food and fluid safely.

The Adult Services Team, based on the ground floor of the hospital, provides assessment and intervention to clients with acquired disorders.

The Paediatric Team

The Paediatric Team provides services to children with developmental difficulties. The department has close links with the Local Education Authority and social services and is currently working on a number of joint initiatives.
