The Specialist Palliative Care Team is made up of health professionals who provide support and advice to individuals affected by cancer or other advanced incurable illnesses, and their carers within Eastern Cheshire. We work alongside other health and social care providers such as GP’s, hospital ward teams, community nurses, social workers and other therapists. The goal of palliative care is to promote quality of life for people living with life limiting illnesses.
The key members of the team are as follows:
Dr Trevor Rimmer, Consultant in Palliative Medicine
Damian Lacey, Macmillan Clinical Nurse Specialist
Keven White, Macmillan Clinical Nurse Specialist
Janet Ratcliffe, Macmillan Clinical Nurse Specialist
Jude Webster, Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist
Sheona Goodall, Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist
Julie Whitehead, Macmillan Pharmacist – Oncology & Palliative Care
Jill Booth, Macmillan Team Secretary
The team is based at Macclesfield District General Hospital, although we work across the hospital site and the community to visit patients in their own homes or other places of care such as nursing and residential homes.
Referrals may be made by patients, carers, healthcare and other allied professions by contacting the team secretary:
