Post Graduate Medical Education

The Post Graduate Medical Education offer adminstrative and educational support to facilitate the education, training and continuing development of postgraduate professionals in hospital medicine and general practice at Macclesfield District General Hospital. This includes arranging teaching sessions for the foundation doctors, the grand round, liaising with the clinical tutors, and arranging study leave.

Grand round programme

The grand round is held weekly in the Education and Training Centre, lecture theatre and is open to all staff. Grand round is a sponsored programme at the trust. The buffet starts from 12.15pm meeting starts  with the presentation and discussion proceeding at 1.00pm. Grand rounds are chaired by a senior clinicians at East Cheshire NHS Trust or a guest speaker.
