Medical Business Unit

The Medical Business Unit supports the delivery of a range of inpatient and outpatient services for the patients who choose to have their treatment at Macclesfield District General Hospital.

Our services

• General medicine
• The specialty for treatments of cardiology, gastroenterology, respiratory, care of the elderly and acute stroke services.
• Coronary Care Unit and cardiac rehabilitation.
• Emergency Department
• Minor Injuries Unit based at Congleton War Memorial Hospital.
• Cardio Respiratory Department 
• Intermediate and transitional care based at Congleton War Memorial and Knutsford Community Hospital.

The Medical Business Unit has a management team to ensure that all these services are delivered to the highest standard. The team is led by Dr Peter Foster, Clinical Director, and Mrs Lesley Petrie who is the Associate Director. There are six service managers who are responsible for the operational day to day running of the services.
 
In order that our patients receive a standard of excellence of care at the East Cheshire NHS Trust the Medical Business Unit has a lead nurse and two matrons who are responsible for monitoring the quality of service delivery.
